Data We Collect

Canvas Ninja collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the extension. This data is not tied to your identity and cannot be used to identify you personally.

We collect:

• A randomly generated identifier (UUID) stored locally on your device
• Extension version number
• Feature usage: which commands you use, how often you open the palette, and search result counts
• Settings changes (which setting was changed, not the value)

We do NOT collect:

• Your name, email, or any personal information
• Your Canvas credentials or login information
• Course names, content, grades, or any Canvas data
• Your search queries or what you're looking for
• URLs or websites you visit
• Keystroke data or screen recordings

How We Use This Data

We use anonymous analytics solely to:

• Understand which features are most useful
• Identify bugs and improve reliability
• Guide future development

Third-Party Services

Analytics are processed by PostHog (US servers). See PostHog's privacy policy.

Your Choices

You can disable analytics at any time in the extension's options page. When disabled, no data is collected or transmitted.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted.
